Trees Chopped Down

Board members- We all received the email from the resident unhappy with the quality of trimming of her tree. In my correspondence with Caether about it he advised that the District had received tickets from residents claiming their trees had been entirely cut down. I logged in and there were indeed 2 tickets. One on 4/14 and one on 4/16 of trees from different residents claiming their trees were cut completely down. Both from the same phase. I drove the area and found a 3rd unreported chop down. Despite the 4/14 ticket, Westwood did not have an answer as to what happened. I asked Westwood to find out from Benchmark what happened. To coordinate making the impacted residents whole. To communicate back to these residents that they will be made whole. And to do all of this quickly. This is obviously unacceptable on Benchmark’s part. And I do not want tensions rising between now and our May meeting. If these resident want to show up and yell at us, fine. But they shouldn’t have to show up to get resolution from Benchmark/ The District. Just want you to be aware of the issue.

Update: kudos to Gabe for noticing… Shame on all of us on the Board for not catching it. But Westwood’s report itemized by tree did indeed have four listed for removal. Which was never in the board’s directions/scope. This was in the packet for Monday’s meeting. Not sure if trimming occurred Monday or Tuesday. So this isn’t on benchmark. This is on Westwood for exceeding our direction and the board for not catching it and halting it.
