Resident Confusion

Hi all. I want to continue sharing instances of resident confusion regarding the District.
As you can see, this resident who has been here about 6 months took the time to go to Argyle’s HazWaste dropoff. She was turned away and was frustrated, not understanding that she did not live in Argyle. Coincidentally, the day prior I was engaging with a resident who was incorrectly advising Harvest residents of the bulk pickup schedule (using Northlake’s calendar). And then later advertising Northlake’s bulk dropoff event to Harvest residents. She was a Harvest resident and stating she was a resident of Northlake.
While I have no specific ask at this time. I wish to share these instances with all of you to make sure you hear of them. There are certainly more instances of confusion not being shared on social media. I would hope each of us, and Triton, view these as opportunities and challenges. The District has failed these residents in understanding where they live and what the District does. How can we do better? We’ll never be 100%. But our current strategy has gaps. I’d like to see us always challenging our communication and education strategy.

Maybe we should update our signs with the full district name at the entrance to the neighborhood: Belmont Fresh Water Supply District No. 1 of Denton County

Maybe this would be a better clue that we're not in a city.

Only other thing we may consider is explaining this fact more clearly in the information we provide to Tim.

Unfortunately we'll never be able to address everyone's misunderstandings.

This was an older thread. But honestly I saw what Tim provides new residents, and it’s crystal clear. I have no critiques. It’s whether we want to do things periodically. For the folks that forget that pamphlet they get on day one. Not everything ‘sticks’. I still like the idea of an annual mailer. Northlake does one. But again, no issues with what residents get Day 1. It’s clear about who the District is and what it does. It’s clear we do not live in Argyle/Northlake.
